By Mike Varanakis, Youth Services Public Information Officer
On Friday, September 18th, Salt Lake County Office of Township Services staff presented backpacks to children at South Kearns Elementary School Afterschool Program. The backpacks were part of a book fair sponsored by Township Services, and distributed to Salt Lake County Youth Services through a program funded by the United Way of Salt Lake. Youth Services staff and students are appreciative for the support and are looking forward to filling them with homework.
Special thanks to the supporters who also generously provided school supplies to our afterschool students. The supplies will go to help them excel in school and be prepared to learn. “It is so important for students to be equipped with all of the necessary resources,” said Danielle Latta, Youth Services Afterschool Program Manager. “We’re grateful to Patrick Leary and his staff, and the United Way of Salt Lake, for their continued support.”
