On Saturday, November 21st, Journey Up Mentor Project (JUMP), hosted a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner celebration at the Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Sandy. Milestone participants, staff, and their families were all in attendance.
More than 100 individuals attended, including clients from our Milestone Transitional Living Program, their mentors, community partners and volunteers, creating a hefty shopping list that included eight turkeys, more than 200 lbs. of stuffing and potatoes, 10 dozen dinner rolls and a dozen pies.
Milestone participants all came together prior to the celebration to help decorate tables with words of thanks. During the meal guests had an opportunity to speak and a few participants spoke about how grateful they were for JUMP and Milestone. The room was filled with positive and joyful energy the entire afternoon.
Afterwards, Milestone staff and participants assisted church members taking down decorations and chairs. Many families and participants received to go boxes of food due to the abundance of leftovers. The celebration was a huge success due to the teamwork and collaboration of many programs and the Good Shepard Lutheran Church community.
